About CottageOps
Built for licensed cottage-food bakers — by an operator, not a VC.
CottageOps is the operator OS for licensed cottage-food bakers. Free through 2026, then $19/month — zero transaction fees, and your home address stays hidden until a customer pays. That's the whole pitch.
Who's behind this
CottageOps is built by Tianfang, a software engineer who's spent the past decade shipping operator-facing tooling for small businesses. After watching the Castiron shutdown leave thousands of home bakers stranded mid-season, he started CottageOps as a cottage-food-only platform with a different promise: flat pricing, no transaction cuts, and a commitment to stay bootstrapped.
Why this exists
Castiron raised $7M, charged a marketplace fee on top of a subscription, and shut down anyway. The bakers paid the price twice — once on every sale, and once when the platform vanished with their menu data. We built CottageOps as the inversion of that bet: zero transaction fees, no VC pressure, and a one-click CSV export so your menu is always yours to leave with. The full list of promises — including what happens if we ever wind down — is posted at Our commitment.
What we commit to, in writing
- Free through 2026, then $19/month. No card at signup, nothing billed this year; in 2027 it's a flat $19/month (or $190/year) — one plan, no tiers. No tiered upsell, no per-order fees, no hidden processing markup. If we ever change a price, you'll get at least 30 days' notice and the option to cancel.
- You own your data. Full CSV export at any time, including menu, customers, orders, and label history.
- Cottage-food only. We don't pivot to candles next quarter. Every feature is built around cottage-law label compliance, pickup logistics, and home-baker workflow.
